Apple's iPhone is already outdated, and it releases today
By: Michael Larson

The internet is buzzing about the iPhone. The fanboys have spoken and supposedly the iPhone is the greatest thing since sliced bread. We don't think that is necessarily true.

Just $600.00 for a phone. What a deal. Not only that, but this phone is lacking in some key areas. A battery that is not removable for a spare or replacement? No expansion slots? A 2 megapixel camera?  A closed platform? The iPhone is basically a worse Nokia N95 at what will amount to a 20% price premium.

Article Continues Below

The N95 is a much better option for 98% of the world who want to have a do everything phone. The N95 has an AF 5MP camera, HSDPA (tri-band for worldwide use), SD card slot, Blackberry connect software, GPS and actual buttons to type in a phone number and write e-mails, all for less money. The N95 Even has a TV-Out feature. The iPhone will be successful, but only because its an apple and fanboys will make it so. It is far from the best phone out there currently. It may not even be in the top 5 when you factor in crackberrys and the like.

Just because we think you are stupid for buying a $600.00 closed platform phone, don't let that stop you, you can even get your accessories here in our shops.

iPhone Accessories, Get them while they’re HOT!

Or if you are an uber-geek you can do the smart thing and get the Nokia N95 and have a laptop basically with you all the time. Heck it even does video editing on the fly. Rest assured that as I make our corporate purchasing decisions, the iPhone will come far down the list.

Nokia's N95 Outshines the iPhone by far, for less.

If you want a mobile phone that is good at everything, look no further. A 5-megapixel camera, GPS with free online mapping, excellent video recording, HSDPA... the list of the Nokia N95's charms goes on and on. Oh, and it makes calls too.
